4.4 from 25 reviews

A delicious and healthy Apple Pie Toast featuring warm cinnamon-spiced apples atop toasted bread, layered with creamy yogurt and finished with a drizzle of almond butter. This quick and easy recipe blends the classic flavors of apple pie into a wholesome breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon Apples:

  • 4 apples, diced (skin on for extra fiber)
  • 12 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 small lemon, juiced
  • 34 tbsp water, as needed

Apple Pie Toast:

  • 1 slice of bread, toasted
  • 34 tbsp plain yogurt
  • Cinnamon apples, warmed or freshly made
  • 1 tbsp almond butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Apples: Dice the apples, leaving the skin on to preserve fiber and texture. In a small pot, combine the diced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and water. Cook over medium-low heat with the cover on, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary, until apples are soft, about 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool; store in the refrigerator for up to five days.
  2. Toast the Bread: Toast one slice of your preferred bread until golden and crisp.
  3. Assemble the Toast: Spread a generous layer of plain yogurt over the toasted slice. Top with the warm cinnamon apples, either freshly made or reheated. Finally, drizzle almond butter evenly over the top to add a rich, nutty flavor.
