Golden, crispy slices of French toast sandwiched with rich, melted chocolate hazelnut spread and sweet, ripe banana slices. This indulgent breakfast or brunch treat is warm, gooey, and packed with comfort in every bite—perfect for weekends and special mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut brioche or sandwich bread
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for cooking
  • Optional: powdered sugar, maple syrup, or whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Spread chocolate hazelnut spread on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Layer banana slices over two slices and top with the remaining slices to make sandwiches.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  5. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  6. Cook the sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp, and the chocolate is melted inside.
  7. Slice diagonally and serve warm with your choice of toppings.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for better texture and to prevent sogginess.
  • Try adding a sprinkle of sea salt or crushed nuts for extra flavor and texture.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste and gooey consistency.
