Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 24 salmon filets
  • Olive oil, as needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup buffalo sauce (or hot sauce, such as Franks)
  • 2 teaspoons coconut aminos (or low sodium soy sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: 1 to 2 tablespoons water to thin if desired
  • Optional: Additional buffalo sauce or red pepper chili flakes for more spice, if desired
  • Optional: Squeeze of lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to get it ready for baking the salmon.
  2. Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the mayo, buffalo sauce, coconut aminos, honey, garlic powder, and paprika until smooth. Place the sauce in the refrigerator to chill while preparing the salmon. Add water if you prefer a thinner consistency, and adjust spiciness with extra buffalo sauce or chili flakes.
  3. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Lightly coat them with olive oil on a baking sheet to prevent sticking. In a separate bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, and salt, then coat each fillet evenly with this seasoning mixture.
  4. Apply Sauce to Salmon: Place the seasoned salmon fillets on the baking sheet. Brush a generous layer of the prepared Bang Bang sauce onto the top of each fillet, saving some sauce for after baking.
  5. Bake the Salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven at 400°F for 6-8 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Broil to Finish: After baking, brush the remaining Bang Bang sauce onto the salmon. Then broil the fillets for 2 minutes to caramelize the sauce, giving the salmon a desirable slightly charred and crispy top.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce or chili flakes based on your spice preference.
  • To make the sauce thinner and easier to brush, add 1-2 tablespoons of water if necessary.
  • Use fresh lime juice for a zesty finish that complements the spicy sauce.
  • To ensure even cooking, choose salmon fillets of similar thickness.
  • Watch closely during broiling to prevent burning.
