Scale

Ingredients

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 12 fresh mozzarella balls (1/3 oz. (9⅖ g) cherry size, BelGioioso All-Natural Cheese Fresh Mozzarella Ciliegine)
  • 12 large fresh basil leaves
  • 12 grape tomatoes
  • Extra-virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Balsamic vinegar (for drizzling)
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Assemble the skewers: Thread 1 cherry tomato, 2 mozzarella balls, 2 basil leaves, and 1 grape tomato onto a wooden or bamboo skewer or toothpick. Repeat for all 12 skewers to prepare the entire batch.
  2. Arrange and season: Place the assembled skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle generously with extra-virgin olive oil followed by balsamic vinegar. Then season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Serve or refrigerate: Serve the skewers immediately at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours to serve chilled, depending on preference.

Notes

  • For best taste, use fresh and high-quality mozzarella and basil leaves.
  • You can prepare the skewers ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 2 hours before serving.
  • Adjust the amount of balsamic vinegar and olive oil to your liking.
  • To make the skewers easier to eat, use shorter toothpicks or appetizer sticks.
