- 1 (16 oz) package frozen potato and cheese pierogies
- 12 oz kielbasa sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté kielbasa slices until browned, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions until softened and slightly caramelized.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
- Arrange pierogies in the prepared baking dish. Top with kielbasa and onions, then pour cheese sauce evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or spinach before baking.
- You can substitute smoked sausage for kielbasa if preferred.
- If you like a crispy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the cheese sauce before baking.
