Crispy Bacon Jalapeño Cream Cheese Wontons

Golden fried wonton triangles filled with creamy jalapeño-laced cheese, topped with crispy bacon and fresh chives – the ultimate indulgent appetizer with a spicy, savory crunch in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives or green onions
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Lay out wonton wrappers and spoon 1 tablespoon of the filling into the center of each.
  3. Fold each wrapper into a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with chopped bacon and chives.
  6. Serve warm with ranch or sour cream dip on the side.

Notes

  • Ensure edges are sealed well to prevent filling from leaking during frying.
  • Can be assembled ahead and frozen before frying.
  • Use turkey bacon for a lighter option.
