Crispy Falafel Wrap with Fresh Veggies & Tahini Sauce

Golden, crunchy falafels wrapped in warm flatbread with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and creamy tahini sauce, creating a wholesome Middle Eastern favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup fresh parsley leaves
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

For Serving:

  • 4 flatbreads or pita breads
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup tahini sauce

Instructions

  1. Drain soaked chickpeas and pat dry. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until a coarse mixture forms.
  2. Shape mixture into small patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry falafels in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Warm the flatbreads. Layer lettuce and diced tomatoes, then place falafels on top.
  5. Drizzle generously with tahini sauce, fold, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure chickpeas are well drained and dry to avoid soggy falafels.
  • Serve with extra tahini or hot sauce for added flavor.
  • Falafel mixture can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours before frying.
