- 1 block feta cheese (about 200g), sliced in half
- 4 sheets phyllo pastry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for serving)
- 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place one sheet of phyllo on a clean surface and brush with olive oil. Lay another sheet on top and brush again.
- Place a slice of feta in the center. Fold the phyllo over to enclose the cheese like a parcel. Repeat with the second half of feta and remaining sheets.
- Place the wrapped feta on the baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the tops with more olive oil.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Warm the honey slightly and drizzle over the pastries.
- Sprinkle generously with black and white sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately while hot and gooey inside.
Notes
- Use good-quality feta for the best flavor and texture.
- Phyllo can dry out quickly, so keep unused sheets covered while working.
- Can substitute with goat cheese for a different flavor profile.
- Pairs well with a crisp white wine or herbal tea.
