Crispy Feta & Honey Phyllo Pastries

A Greek-inspired sweet-savory pastry made with creamy feta cheese wrapped in golden, crispy phyllo dough, drizzled with warm honey and topped with toasted sesame seeds. A perfect appetizer or elegant dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block feta cheese (about 200g), sliced in half
  • 4 sheets phyllo pastry
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place one sheet of phyllo on a clean surface and brush with olive oil. Lay another sheet on top and brush again.
  3. Place a slice of feta in the center. Fold the phyllo over to enclose the cheese like a parcel. Repeat with the second half of feta and remaining sheets.
  4. Place the wrapped feta on the baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the tops with more olive oil.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Warm the honey slightly and drizzle over the pastries.
  7. Sprinkle generously with black and white sesame seeds.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and gooey inside.

Notes

  • Use good-quality feta for the best flavor and texture.
  • Phyllo can dry out quickly, so keep unused sheets covered while working.
  • Can substitute with goat cheese for a different flavor profile.
  • Pairs well with a crisp white wine or herbal tea.
