Crispy Feta & Phyllo Pastry with Honey and Sesame

A beautifully golden phyllo parcel stuffed with creamy feta cheese, lightly drizzled with warm honey and topped with toasted black and white sesame seeds. The perfect balance of savory, sweet, and crunchy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 sheets phyllo dough
  • 7 oz feta cheese, sliced into two thick rectangles
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil (for brushing)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lay one sheet of phyllo on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter or oil. Add another sheet on top and brush again.
  3. Place a feta slice in the center and fold the phyllo around it like a parcel. Repeat for the second slice.
  4. Place the wrapped feta parcels on a lined baking tray or oven-safe skillet, seam side down. Brush the tops with more butter.
  5. Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds over the top.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Drizzle warm honey over each parcel right before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality feta for the best flavor and texture.
  • Phyllo can dry out quickly, so keep unused sheets covered with a damp towel.
  • These parcels are best served immediately while hot and crispy.
