Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 slider buns (preferably Hawaiian-style)
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion

Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the Big Mac sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, pickle relish, yellow mustard, paprika, sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly until the sauce is smooth. Cover and refrigerate to allow flavors to meld while you prepare the rest of the sliders.
  3. Prepare the beef layer: Evenly spread the ground beef into the baking dish, pressing it down firmly to create a flat and even layer. Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bake the beef: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the beef is fully cooked through. Carefully drain any excess fat from the beef layer once done.
  5. Cut beef into portions: Remove the cooked beef from the dish and cut it into 12 square portions, matching the number of slider buns.
  6. Assemble the sliders: Slice the slider buns horizontally. Arrange the bottom halves in a clean baking dish. Spread a small spoonful of Big Mac sauce on each bun bottom, add a portion of the cooked beef, then top each with half a slice of American cheese. Sprinkle the diced onions evenly over the cheese.
  7. Top and butter buns: Place the top halves of the buns over the assembled sliders. Brush the melted butter over the top buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds to mimic the classic burger look.
  8. Bake the assembled sliders: Bake the sliders uncovered in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, just until the cheese melts and the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  9. Add fresh toppings and serve: Once baked, carefully lift the top buns and add shredded lettuce and pickle slices to each slider. Replace the tops and serve the sliders warm for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Using Hawaiian-style slider buns adds a nice sweetness that balances the savory beef and tangy sauce.
  • For juicier beef, do not overcook the meat layer; keep an eye on the baking time.
  • Make the Big Mac sauce ahead of time to let flavors meld better.
  • Remove excess grease after baking the ground beef for less greasy sliders.
  • You can substitute American cheese with cheddar or Swiss, but American cheese melts best for that classic burger texture.
  • Brush buns carefully with melted butter to avoid sogginess yet achieve golden tops.
  • If you prefer, add tomatoes or extra pickles for more crunch and flavor.
