Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Marinade

  • 400 g Large Argentinian Shrimp, peeled and dried
  • ½ Juice from Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Shrimp Linguine Sauce

  • 3 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 200 ml Tomato Sauce
  • 500 ml Heavy Cream
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • Parmesan (optional), grated
  • Fresh Basil (optional)

Pasta

  • 300 g Linguine Pasta

Instructions

  1. Marinate shrimp: In a bowl, combine the peeled and dried shrimp with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly with the seasonings.
  2. Cook shrimp: Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté until the garlic turns golden brown and aromatic, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Prepare sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and let everything simmer together over medium heat for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook pasta: While the sauce simmers, cook the linguine pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving half a cup of pasta water.
  6. Toss pasta and sauce: Add the drained pasta and reserved pasta water to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the linguine. Optionally, garnish with grated Parmesan and fresh basil. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious weeknight dinner!

Notes

  • For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a cream alternative.
  • Adjust the seasoning and spice levels according to your taste preferences.
  • Use fresh shrimp if possible for the best flavor and texture.
  • Reserve some pasta cooking water to help loosen the sauce if it becomes too thick.
  • Parmesan and fresh basil are optional but add great complementary flavors.
