Garlic Mushroom and Ricotta White Pizza

A gourmet vegetarian white pizza featuring sautéed garlic mushrooms, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella on a golden crispy crust, finished with fresh thyme and black pepper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups mushrooms, sliced (cremini or mixed varieties)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Cornmeal or flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms and sauté until mushrooms are tender and golden. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured or cornmeal-dusted surface to desired thickness.
  4. Brush the dough with olive oil.
  5. Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the surface of the dough.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly on top.
  7. Arrange the sautéed mushrooms over the cheese layer.
  8. Bake the pizza for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  9. Remove from oven and top with fresh thyme leaves and an extra crack of black pepper.
  10. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a pizza stone or preheated baking sheet for a crispier crust.
  • Mix mushroom varieties like shiitake or oyster for added depth of flavor.
  • Add a drizzle of truffle oil after baking for extra richness.
