Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 lbs. organic chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons On Everything All-Purpose Blend (see Notes for recipe)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Homemade Hot Honey Sauce

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup organic raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep + Season Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the cleaned and rinsed chicken breasts with olive oil, sea salt, On Everything All-Purpose Blend, and smoked paprika. Mix thoroughly until the chicken is fully coated with seasoning. Place the seasoned chicken breasts onto a clean cutting board and make small slit-like cuts about 1 inch apart on each breast to help infuse the flavors.
  2. Marinate (Optional but Recommended): For best flavor, place the seasoned chicken in a sealed ziplock bag and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or ideally overnight. Before cooking, let the chicken sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Make the Hot Honey Sauce: In a medium 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the honey, cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of sea salt. Cook and stir until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Remove from heat.
  4. Bake the Chicken: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts side by side on the baking sheet with some room between each. Spoon half of the hot honey sauce over each chicken breast. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the chicken is golden brown, crispy on the outside, and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
  5. Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the remaining hot honey sauce over the top and serve with your favorite sides like salad, pasta, basmati rice, or brown rice. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in a baking sheet in the oven until warmed through and add more hot honey sauce if desired.
  • Make Ahead: Seasoning blend and sauce can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated separately. Store seasoning blend at room temperature in a sealed bag.
  • Spices/Herbs: Adjust seasoning levels to taste if you prefer less heat or saltiness.
  • Chicken Pieces: This recipe works well with chicken tenderloins, thighs, or drumsticks in place of breasts.
  • Hot Honey: For a store-bought option, Mike’s Hot Honey is highly recommended.
  • Homemade All-Purpose Blend: Mix 1 teaspoon sea salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon dried parsley.
