Ingredients

Scale

Beef

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Sauce & Seasoning

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon erythritol or another keto-friendly sweetener (optional)

Cooking Oil & Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside to keep warm.
  2. Stir-fry the vegetables: Using the same skillet, add the broccoli florets, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir-fry the mixture for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp, ensuring it maintains a nice crunch.
  3. Combine and sauce: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and erythritol (if using). Stir everything together thoroughly and cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors and heat through.
  4. Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli stir-fry onto plates while hot. Garnish each serving with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Erythritol is optional and adds a subtle sweetness to the sauce; omit if preferred.
  • You can substitute flank steak with other cuts like sirloin or ribeye if desired.
  • Make sure to slice the beef against the grain for maximum tenderness.
  • Use a wok or large skillet to ensure proper stir-frying and even cooking.
