- 6 small burger buns or mini bread rolls, halved
- 300g ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5–6 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in pizza sauce and oregano. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Arrange bun halves on the prepared tray, cut side up. Spoon a layer of beef mixture over each bun.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the beef, then top each with a tomato slice.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
- You can use mini pita bread or English muffins instead of burger buns.
- For extra flavor, add chili flakes or jalapeños before baking.
- Best served immediately for optimal texture and taste.
