Pear, Gorgonzola, and Arugula Flatbread

This elegant flatbread balances sweet pears, tangy gorgonzola, peppery arugula, and crunchy walnuts on a golden, crispy crust. Finished with a drizzle of honey or balsamic glaze, it’s a sophisticated appetizer or light meal with gourmet appeal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 flatbread or thin pizza crust
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh arugula
  • 2 tbsp chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1 tbsp honey or balsamic glaze
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place flatbread on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Brush with olive oil.
  3. Arrange pear slices evenly across the flatbread.
  4. Sprinkle crumbled gorgonzola over the top.
  5. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden and crisp.
  6. Remove from oven and top with arugula and toasted walnuts.
  7. Drizzle with honey or balsamic glaze and finish with freshly ground black pepper.
  8. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a firm but ripe pear variety like Bosc or Anjou for best texture.
  • Can be made with blue cheese or goat cheese as a substitute for gorgonzola.
  • For extra crunch, add more toasted walnuts just before serving.
