Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground organic turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 stalk celery, finely diced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 34 cremini or button mushrooms, finely diced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 TBSP coconut aminos
  • 1 TBSP coconut flour
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1.5 tsps sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the cooking device. Set your grill to medium heat or preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) to prepare for cooking the burgers.
  2. Prepare the vegetables. Chop the garlic, onion, celery, carrot, and mushrooms finely by hand with a knife or use a food processor for quicker prep.
  3. Mix the ingredients. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, minced garlic, diced onion, diced celery, grated carrot, diced mushrooms, chopped cilantro, chopped basil, coconut aminos, coconut flour, olive oil, and sea salt. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
  4. Form the patties. Using your hands, shape the mixture into 6 patties or fewer if you prefer larger burgers.
  5. Cook on the grill. Place the patties on the grill with the lid closed, cook for 10-12 minutes total, flipping once halfway. Ensure they are cooked through.
  6. Or cook in the oven. If baking, place patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 17-20 minutes, flipping once halfway through the cooking time until fully cooked.
  7. Serve and enjoy. Serve the turkey burgers warm with AIP ketchup or your choice of sides for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For juicier burgers, avoid overmixing the meat mixture.
  • Use fresh herbs for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Can be served with AIP-compliant sauces or fresh lettuce wraps instead of buns.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Burgers can be frozen raw or cooked for future meals.
