Lobster Escargot is a luxurious appetizer featuring tender chunks of lobster tail baked in a rich garlic-parsley butter and topped with melted Havarti cheese. This elegant dish is perfect for special occasions or indulgent dinners, served warm with crusty bread for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Seafood

  • 23 raw lobster tails, cut into 1-inch chunks

Butter Mixture

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Cheese and Serving

  • 1 cup shredded Havarti cheese (or Gouda, or Mozzarella)
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400℉ to ensure it’s hot enough to bake the lobster and melt the butter evenly.
  2. Prepare Lobster: Remove the lobster meat from the tails and cut it into 1-inch pieces, suitable for fitting into an escargot baking dish.
  3. Make Garlic-Butter Mixture: In a bowl, combine softened butter, chopped parsley, minced shallot, minced garlic cloves, and salt. Mix thoroughly to infuse the butter with aromatic flavors.
  4. Assemble in Escargot Dish: Place one piece of lobster tail into each cavity of the escargot baking dish. Spoon about one teaspoon of the butter mixture over each lobster piece.
  5. Bake: Arrange the escargot dish on a baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes, allowing the lobster to cook through and the butter to bubble.
  6. Broil with Cheese: Remove the dish, sprinkle shredded Havarti cheese on each portion, and place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the flavorful butter sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute Havarti cheese with Gouda or Mozzarella as preferred.
  • Be careful not to overcook the lobster to keep it tender and juicy.
  • If you don’t have an escargot baking dish, small ramekins or a shallow baking dish can be used.
  • Use fresh garlic and parsley for the best flavor.
  • Serve with a crisp white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay to complement the dish.
